2015 has officially ended so I can officially make this list!! You can see the list of things I watched this year here. Also in July I posted a 'Top Ten so far' list here. Ready for my top ten?!

TOP TEN:

1. Tokyo Bandwagon (10/10) Review
2. Heroine Shikkaku (10/10) Review
3. MOZU Season 1 (9/10) Review
4. Kingyo Club (9/10) Review (Skip to 'Overall Thoughts' for non-spoiler review)
5. Mother Game (9/10) Review
6. Suikyuu Yankees (9/10 Review
7. Ore Ore (9/10) Review
8. Wasurenai to Chikatta Boku ga Ita (9/10) Review
9. Death Note (9/10) Review (Skip to 'Overall Thoughts' for non-spoiler review)
10. Yowakutemo Katemasu (8/10) Review (I cannot find my review post for this! o_O)

*Of course rewatchs aren't allowed on this list!

There are many others that I loved throughout the year (Bakuman, Tatakau! Shoten Girl, Siren etc) but these are definitely my top ten! I hope it's easy to see why, but by all means do let me know if you ended up hating one of these and why! xD

Honourable Mention:
- The Lovers (9/10) - this is a Korean dorama so obviously would never be on my top ten list. But this drama was so realistic and I felt it really showed what real relationships are like. It was heartbreaking, it was funny. I adored every episode <3

Most Disappointing of the Year:
- Galaxy Kaidoh
- Second Love
- Age Harassment

Do I need to explain these?

Actor of the Year?
I got (re)obsessed with SO many actors this year and just had weeks of marathoning their stuff. But the one that's stuck with me all year is obvious:

Yamazaki Kento.

There we have it!! What do you think?

Let me know below who and what your favourites were for this year!!

It finally came out!! Unfortunately I didn't manage to read all the manga before it came out - I got half way - but the manga is so good that I'm gunna finish it anyway ^_^ Onto the review!!

( I wrote quite a bit ) )

Overall: 8/10 - not as emotional as the manga and the movie really loses the shock-factor when it comes to revealing moments that occur - in the manga they're so shockery and always a cliffhanger. Decent acting overall but it's really unfair that Yama keeps being given the same role. Also I wanted a bit more from the end scene. The locations, cinematography, scene transitions, music were all beautiful! Second half was a lot better than the first half also,

This was tonight's movie!!

Quickie Review: 6/10

I was a little skeptical going into this film because one of my students said it wasn't good and I don't like Sakaguchi (that is his name right?) but I have to say that the trailer made this look so good so in the end; I just had to see it! Plus it's cheaper to watch it in the cinema than to buy it xD Also it's cost 50% of what it costs for a cinema ticket to probably rent the DVD when it comes out so, yeah, I watched it in the cinema....

( Oremonogatari ) )

---

Overall: It was a decent movie but I feel it could've really gone all out on the comedy. There were laughable moments but they were few and far apart and I'm disappointed at the lack of gayness after all the vibes I got during it. I haven't seen the anime so I can't compare the film to the anime but I've always wanted to watch the anime so if I ever do, I'll do a comparison for definite!

Have you seen? Have you see the anime? Which did you prefer? Do you like Sakaguchi (if that's even his real name)??

Watched this on Wednesday!! =] I really enjoyed it but there were some moments that disappointed me.

Quickie Review: 7.5/10

There was a lot of action - great action scenes! - , great connections between characters towards the end. Great cinematograhy and music also! Yamada was by far the superior actor. I wanted so hard to love this film but at least two major negatvies brought it down to a 7.5. For example: Toma's performance and character was disappointing.

( A lot of info below - beware heavy spoilers ) )

They also showed the trailer for Pink and Grey on Wednesday and it definitely wasn't the type of story I was expecting but it look really good! So I need my momma to send me my book asap so I can read it!! xD

Have you seen this? Will you watch it?

Not gunna lie, minus the anime, I watched all these in the past 3 days! Becareful for SPOILERS and don't forget my massive 14 part review that I did last time, here. All my other 'Last Things' can be found under this tag.

( Some beautiful Nijiro caps btw ) )

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed those reviews xD I do apologise for the language. I think I'm gunna try and do a non-swearing review next time as a challenge xD I am now going to go and watch Assassination Classroom and Kabukichou Love Hotel I think now. it's only 8pm and on my day off so I can easily fit in two movies right! ^_^

Have you seen any these? Want to see? What did you think? Any recommendations?

Overall Rating: 9/10
Overall Thoughts: OMG this was so good!!!! Probably second best movie of the year! The acting, story, music, sound, cinematography, CGI was all amazing!! I wanted so much more! Wish it'd been a dorama, hence the one point being knocked off. This is great! I haven't read the manga so I can't compare but for me, I freaking loved this!! ^_^ And of course I cried twice xD

Are you ready for Tbscreenrider's most anticipated review of the year?! xD

First as usual my play-by-play:

( as I watch ) )

---

Overall Rating: 7 out of 10
Overall Thoughts:
My original rating was 8/10 but after 24+ hours time to think, I have knocked it down to a 7/10 and I think my reasons justify why...
In my honest opinion, the film focuses too much on the stuff I don't wanna know about. The actual plot of the story is unfortunately the only other genre of Japanese movie/tv (besides high school bullying) that I'm sick of watching (haha see that pun?!) and try not to watch anymore cos it just fucking rips you apart and I'm sick of just watching it happen over and over again.
Another reason why it's down to a 7 is that I feel, once again, I wasn't shown much of Nijiro's acting. He had a short moment (once again) towards the end where he got a chance to really show off his skill as an actor and once again, the scene was too short and I feel he wasn't given enough room to show off and grow. Don't get me wrong, the scene was fantastic but I wanted to see more of his range.
Another reason is that, I wasn't moved by this film. Even though the film kept me interested the entire time, I wasn't emotional nor did I feel anything towards to characters except for Nijiro's character and his father and Kyoko's father.
I also feel like there was no message to it. Normally with a slow film like this, the message of the film hits you as soon as the movie's finished cos right at the end the big picture comes into view and you realise what the director's message is but here, unfortuantely, I don't feel that happened at all. I don't understand what the point of this film was nor what message the director and writers wanted to project to it's audience.
I also feel like one of the last scenes of the film really cheapened and ruined the film. It just wasn't needed in my opinion. It could've been completely removed and would've been a much better ending. Feels like it was only added in to create a shock factor.

The plus sides are the setting and the cinematopgraphy! I feel the director and I are very similar in our filming style in terms of nature and such and once again, I was happy with acting from Nijiro but I wanted more. The last major thing I don't get: Why is it translted into 'Still the Water'?! The title actually translated to 'The Second Window' and I think that name matches the film better. This is definitely a film I want to own on DVD some day purely because of the positives and how beautifully filmed it is.

So the real question is: How much does Tbscreenrider hate me now? =/

PS. If you haven't already, I suggest you check out Nijiro's instagram. It's fucking gorgeous and makes you like him even more!!

So I've been wanting to watch these doramas recently but dunno where to start to hoping you guys can pitch in....

BUT before we begin: Tbscreenrider don't you DARE start mentioning Nijiro's stuff! His stuff is already on my official 'must watch asap' list and not this list which is 'thinking of watching' COMPLETELY different list xP I'm especially interested in watching 'Why Don't You Play In Hell?' first of his...

These are two I've been meaning to watch for a LONG time and STILL not gotten around to them!

Library Wars (futuristics, I think libraries are bad in this future) and Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro (comedy, fantasy, nice to see Yamada do comedy).

And then there is the massive amount of Suda Masaki that turns out I haven't seen!!! o_O

Soko no mi ni te hikaru teraku, Akegarasu, Chocolietta, Hidamari no Kanojo, The Backwater, The Boy Inside, and Assassination Classroom

I met with my friend yesterday and she seriously recommended these films to me too...

Pacchiri:
Romeo, A.K.A. Kosuke Matsuyama, is a second-year high school student. A nice, normal, nonviolent type, he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a rampaging crowd of Korean boys, outraged by insults perpetrated by several of his idiotic class-mates on two Korean girls. He makes a narrow escape, but soon after, he and his best bud Norio Yoshida are sent by their home-room teacher to invite the Korean students to a friendly soccer game as a way of restoring the peace.
Trembling like black-uniformed leaves, they enter enemy territory, where Kosuke encounters a doll-faced, but serious-looking girl Kyung-Ja Lee playing a Korean folk song, "Imjin River," on a flute. He and Norio Yoshida are also nearly lynched by her older brother Ang Son Lee and his gang, but he is already smitten -- and eager to learn that haunting tune.

Outrage:
The story begins with Sekiuchi (Kitamura Soichiro), boss of the Sannokai, a huge organized crime syndicate controlling the entire Kanto region, issuing a stern warning to his lieutenant Kato (Miura Tomokazu) and right-hand man Ikemoto (Kunimura Jun), head of the Ikemoto-gumi. Kato orders Ikemoto to bring the unassociated Murase-gumi gang in line, and he immediately passes the task on to his subordinate Otomo (Beat Takeshi), who runs his own crew. The tricky jobs that no-one wants to do always end up in Otomo’s lap.

ALSO! My flatmate JUST recommended this to me!

Like Father, Like Son

This is based off the trailer that is being shown on the website (here)

SO! Here we go:

The opening to the website says: ‘Only 6 death notes are allowed at a time.’
So I guess we’ll be having 3 people - 3 shinigami or Ryuk and 5 people with DNs…
It say’s ‘Light’s Comeback/Revival (depending on which word you translate it into)’ so Light comes back with vengeance? Or he IS the Shinigami this time…
Also say’s ‘L Successor’ so could be Near’s story…
It mentions ‘cyber-terrorism’
‘The New World’s God’
Then it shows 5 Death Notes dropping from the sky. Not 6 - 5!!! So confirmed 5 people and 1 shinigami?!
Before it turns in ‘2016′ it says ‘b b b b b b’. So… will we be getting B’s story? Or y’know that’s just the font for ‘6′. Also the 2016′s ‘6′ turns a different colour right at the end.
My conclusion is: 5 DNs, 1 Shinigami (who is Light) making up 6 DNs in total, Possibly Near (but I’m getting B vibes) as the detective head, Cyber-terrorism so one of the new DNers is a hacker, possibly? Or an organisation like the Yotsuba group.

What are everyone’s conclusions and theories?

PS. Going to bed now (even though it 9:30pm) cos I've either got a tempurature or I'm still hung over from last night! o_O

no title

I watched this last week but for some reason at the time of wanting to post this LJ wouldn't let me upload the movie poster -__- so it's coming to you a week late! I'd say the following review contains no spoilers xD

Rating: 7/10

I seriously loved the drama so of course was very excited for the film, and while it was a great film, I can't help that it was missing the action and the relationships that were in the dorama... I (obviously) cried like 4 times at this film for various reasons, both happy and sad reasons cos I do love these characters! Which brings me to the main negative of the film review: There was NOT enough Ichigo x Ayano Go's character! I wanted more of them working together! Cos they work so well as opposites and OMG they seriously ARE gay for each other! That semi-end scene OMG so much gay! But also I was crying xD I definitely wanted and needed more of that duo! Also, this film was a little difficult for me to follow because the language is very specific to scientific and detective vocabulary that I had a hard time understanding what they were discussing but obvs it's a film so by looking I could understand what's going on but I do feel down when I can't understand the words 100% even if it's obvious what's going on by the images on the screen... But yes, the story was solid, the acting was brilliant, the actual ending was pretty decent and I had all the emotions and enjoyed the action immensly so yes, overall a solid, good movie which would've been enjoyed more if I could've understood more! =]

Have you seen this? Do you plan to see this? Did you watch the drama? Let me know below!

HE DID IT AGAIN!!!

In less than 3 days ANOTHER Live Action film was announced today with Yamazaki!!!!! And it is another of who's anime I have seen and loved!! And once again, it is another male lead with a completely different personality to what he's played before (he might be similar to his L-DK character but that's the only one he's similar to).

Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji
Filming is set for December
Release is set for May 2016 (PLEASE BE ON MY BIRTHDAY!)

So look forward to a Watch-a-long in March-ish xD

I've already watched the anime and seriously enjoyed it! It's a bit stereotypical BUT I still enjoyed it.
Also, I'm neutral towards the actress BUT I can't imagine her playing the brat that the character is.

Guys... he did it again! He landed another role! DAMN he's been so busy this year! I hope he's eating okay... but back to the news!!

Pretty sure the news broke out today but I will severly upset if someone tells me now that I'm late in knowing this so shhhh!!! LET ME HAVE MY MOMENT!!

(Information partly taken from jdramaid and including my comments)

The story’s revolve about Kaori Miyazono, a free-spirited violinist with secret, attracted to Kousei Arima, a genius pianist who has given up playing. Together with their friends Tsubaki Sawabe and Ryota Watari help each other to be picked up again. Seemingly, Suzu Hirose and Yamazaki Kento have been practicing the violin and piano for the past 6 months. I am excited that Taishi Nakagawa is getting much bigger roles now too! He is finally being recognised and this'll be his second time working with Yamazaki correct? Filming begins this October for a month then will be released on 2016. I am very excited to see Yamazaki play a mentally tortured boy - and I mean that in the nicest way possible and in terms of his scope as an actor!

In Summary:

SHIGATSU HA KIMI NO USO (a anime that - what I saw - was really good!) + Live Action Movie (a platform I love) + YAMAZAKI KENTO (the guy I currently live for and love) = YES!!!!!!!!!!!! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! GIVE IT TO ME LIKE YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!

I'm not happy about the actress - if I remember correctly her voice annoys me. BUT we're getting another Yamazaki film very soon so I can't complain!

Which brings me to a question....: Have you seen: Shigatsu ha Kimi no Uso If not... WHY NOT?! To be honest cos so Uni finals I stopped at like episode 4 but I've always intended to complete it and now I have a definite reason to! SO... my main question is: Watch-a-Long? I'm thinking we make this one maybe a 1 - 2 month long one? So that not only can we leisurely watch this (anime definitely isn't a strong interest of mine so I rarely, rarely, rarely marathon them) but also with the filming beginning in October, we can most likely add that progress into our discussions - what does everyone think?!

Have you seen the anime? What did you think? Read the manga? Wanna do the watch-a-long?
Yes dates will be discussed below and/or at a later date. Do you love Yamazaki as much as I do?

I literally watched this less than 3 hours ago!

Non Spoiler Review: This was really funny! I laughed hard about twice xD Naturally this film was perfect for me because it involved the entertainment world and I love all Japanese movies that are about the industry or even CM/magazine industry or fashion etc. You get the jist! I half expected it to be heavy romance and for it to be a very stereotypical company romance but it wasn't, it was a little different so that was nice but I wish the romance was a little more developed and I wish the ending had a bit more information. The ending credits needed a funner sequence too. I was also shocked by Inoue's body. And naturally I drooled all over Yamamoto <3 that make is still 'dripping with good looks' (please tell me y'all seen Ouran?!). It was a good time, but you know my negatives already. I also liked how much natural noise there was in this!

7/10

Will you see this film?

I saw the SS/KR film for the second time today! I'm thinking that'll be my next review (yes, I know I'm way behind on 'The Last Things I Watched' sorry =/ it will come back soon though!), so look out for it!! ^_^
