Hey guys! I did purely a stage actor one back in May which you can check out here.
My Watching/Keeping-an-Eye-on actors have somewhat drastically changed, particularly over last summer, so I want to keep you all updated. Also this gives me a chance to talk about some actors that impressed me last year and that I hope continue to grow through out this year. As well as solidifying to you guys who my bias' are xD
So let's do... movie/tv actors first.
I only have two guys who I want to see progress this next year:
1. Mackenyu

This guys stole my heart straight away in 2015's Kamen Rider Drive movie and then I continued to watch him in 2016 through Chihayafuyu and Aogeba <3 I know he's going to be in Jojo with YamaKen AND he's also be cast in the new Pacific Rim 2!! << I loved the first movie! So it's safe to say he's starting to really break out in this industry and I wanna see what he can do.
2. Kentarou

This little cutie modle-turned-actor. He's still very new on the acting scene but I've enjoyed his characters so far and I hope to see him do bigger roles and different roles this year!
I was going to put Mochizuki Ayumu (from Mother Game) in here but he's still super young and I think he's been focused on modelling rather than acting recently (I follow his press pics on twitter that he does for... tv guide pretty much every week) so I can't say we'll definitely see him act this year =[ also (I hear you tbs!) Murakami Nijiro isn't on this list just purely because I know he can act, I know what he can do, he already on the 'I know he can impress me/entertain me' list which so many amazing actors like Suda Masaki and Ikematsu Sousuke are already on. But I am super excited for his movie Mukoku but sadly I've STILL not seen Distruction Babies =/ maybe I should do that on my next day off...
Okay so now I'll tell you my bias', which you probably all know anyway but this past year my bias' have increased from 2 bias' to 3! So here we go:
1. Kamenashi Kazuya

When will I never not support this man? And he really is a grown man now xD cannot believe he's 31 next month!! =O I no long really have to describe how I feel about Kame do I? My fangirling is forever here for him. BUT he has two (yes two!!) movies coming out this year which I'm super excited to see! Unfortunately no dorama news yet nor any KAT-TUN revivale news yet but TWO MOVIES!!! Also I'm so behind on Going! so I don't know if he achieved his 2016 goal for pitching yet... I'm a bad fangirl... I can fix it! xD TWO MOVIES!
2. Yanagishita Tomo

I was so lucky to see him act SO much last year and I'm so happy at how much he impressed me! When you're not in direct (what's the right word) experience to see a stage actor, you can never really tell if what you're seeing on DVD is their true potential or if the the camera just happened to film them on a good day. So of course I was delighted when finally after YEARS (Sabishii Magnet kinda doesn't count because it was my first stage and I didn't really understand the process and skill that came with acting) of seeing Tomo on the screen, I finally came to Japan and almost every time I was about 4 rows away from him and saw him act rawly in the flesh and I've been so impressed by him and it warms my heart that he is the actor I always knew he was and I'm so happy that after all these years of supporting him that he hasn't disappointed me -- because that can happen. You finally meet or see a person you support and BAM they're either actually bad at their job or they're not a nice person and it can be life shattering! Hence why I am so immensly happy with Tomo as a person and as an actor. Okay I'll stop xD OOOO ONE MORE THING! TOMO FAMILY IN MARCH!!!! I CANNOT WAIT!!!!
3. Aramaki Yoshihiko

This was the one NO ONE saw coming including myself! Discovered him last Feb/March and by July BAM he was in my heart and I was fully involved in his work xD I've also had the pleasure to meet him about 3 times and I've seen him act on stage about 5 or 6 times this past year and he's getting his first solo leader role this year! I've caught this boy JUST as his career is really taking off which I'm super thankful for! And I can already see his massive progress over this past year and cannot wait to see him continue to progress and try different characters throughout the next year! <3 I am definitely supporing him for the long-haul just like Kame and Tomo <3 seriously guys... you should watch his live streams that he does AT his office WITH alcohol and he's just the happiest boy I've ever seen drunk xD he's so sweet and so funny and I'll stop now xD
And finally here are my 'Keeping an Eye on Actors' that hopefully will stay with me until atleast March/April-ish. I do warn you, it's a drastic change xD also I warn you; I'm a sucker for actors who take the time to like and/or reply to my tweets, and/or take time to talk to me during events/after plays and that's influenced my list below A LOT.
1. Ikeoka Ryousuke

Okay so this one ISN'T a shocker xD Unfortunately he had SO little work last year that my interest in him HAS dwindled a bit BUT every time he does get something new I do get excited! This year he's at least got SuiDanshi both dorama AND stage so I'll definitely be watching both of those AND he'll be in D Stage 20th too!!! So that's three definite things of his I can look forward to. I do hope he gets more work this year <3 and it's not like he's NOT popular because he is! He's like twice as popular as Tomo!! I want this boy to grow and I want this boy to get more work...
2. Yasukawa Junpei (JP)

Okay so this one isn't a shocker either but after meeting him at the beginning of November and then again at the end of November and getting to talk to him and seeing him act again and he's just such a nice person and he remembered who I was and he's still a free-lancing actor so of course I want to continue my support for him! I was so PISSED that Dance with Devils in December was only on 21st Dec to 27th Dec and guess how long I was in England? You guessed it 21st - 27th Dec which means I missed it COMPLETELY! I apologised to JP so many times in November cos I couldn't go xD and freaking wish I had!! Don't worry; DVD preordered at least xD But yes, I really enjoyed his last performance I saw which was Daddy Who and he has another few things at the beginning of this year which I'm definitely going to!
3. Kimura Subaru

He's worked with JP on a number of occasions and I was lucky enough to meet Kimura and talk to him for a hefty amount of time and he's REALLY funny and he's so sweet and he's so cheery and positive and he's just a really great guy okay!! If I can, I want to support him also ^_^ I've seen him act twice and he just has a wonderful gift of being able to constantly keep the audience laughing.
4. Nihira Shougo

This is one of my 'he likes my tweets! I must be his fan!' type of things. And when I did see his play (Onigiri) I surprisingly seriously enjoyed myself; the entire production, the story, the characters, and I wasn't let down by Shougo-kun's performance at all and he's totally adorable! He doesn't have any work for the new year just yet, which worries me a little, but I hope to be able to support him and see his growth as an actor throughout the year.
5. Tanaka Hiroki

He worked with Shougo-kun in Onigiri and I fell for him completely! He is also another who likes all my tweets and he has a play next month which looks rather interesting and he looks totally badass in it so I definitely want to see his range as an actor and see him do a different role. Also just like Nihira he's totally adorable!! They're both younger than me (1994ers I think they both are) so naturally the mother instincts are out and I just wanna cuddle them both xD

Look at how adorable they are!!! *dead*
And I think that's my list. As you can see it's super changed and it's definitely smaller compared to last time but hopefully this allows me to start saving money also as that's a BIG goal for this year ^_^
