Ore Monogatari!! Review

This was tonight's movie!!

Quickie Review: 6/10

I was a little skeptical going into this film because one of my students said it wasn't good and I don't like Sakaguchi (that is his name right?) but I have to say that the trailer made this look so good so in the end; I just had to see it! Plus it's cheaper to watch it in the cinema than to buy it xD Also it's cost 50% of what it costs for a cinema ticket to probably rent the DVD when it comes out so, yeah, I watched it in the cinema....

This film was... good. It was better than average but definitely no where near the film that the trailer advertised. The trailer sets it up to be a super emotional but super hilarious movie and the film ended up being a more: two students stupidly hiding their feelings, sprinkled in with comedy now and again. The comedy definitely wasn't enough. The best comedy scene in all honesty was after the credits and there's one final scene and I was absolutely dying! I definitely did giggling hard at the other comedic parts of the film but they weren't long enough nor frequent enough. The other major thing in this more was I was CONVINCED Sakaguchi's character Sano, was gay for Takeo SO HARD! Like as soon as he was on screen I was like 'PLEASE say he comes out as gay' just how he has no opinion towards women and how he says 'there are no interesting woman' and just how whole attitude towards women, and how definitely he is with Takeo made me CONVINCED he was gay and I was so hoping he was gunna confess half way through so it messed up the 'love triangle'. But he didn't.... is he gay?! How you seen the Anime?!

I thought the girl actress actually did a decent job. I enjoyed her acting and her character, EXCEPT that she says 'uchi' instead of 'watashi' -__-, but I felt like she was very fresh, natural and it appeared like she was very professional with her crying scenes. She's pretty cute too xD

I really liked the three extra classmates as well! I wish they'd gotten more air-time because they looked very interesting and amusing!

I wish the comedic moments in the Haunted House had been extended, we only got one laugh and then BAM serious fire crap. I think we should've gotten three laughs and then go into the more serious scene. And that scene was terrible. The whole 'leave ahead! I'll get out! *continues to get crushed under object, they run back, don't help*' it just went ON for so long and I'm like 'bitch that fire would've consumed you by now if this'd been real!' it was a poorly executed scene in my opinion.

What else can  say...

I did get teary-eyed at the end because I'm a sucker of love stories and romance but on the whole, the entire situation between the two characters misunderstanding each other's feelings was just dumb as fuck. It was cute to begin with but like once she was also hiding her feelings, that's when I was a little like 'bitch please, grow some balls' << that sounds a little harsher than I mean....

OMG!!! Sakaguchi's acting at the end when he had to laugh? Was PAINFULLY fake. I literally cringed! =/ Not good!!

---

Overall: It was a decent movie but I feel it could've really gone all out on the comedy. There were laughable moments but they were few and far apart and I'm disappointed at the lack of gayness after all the vibes I got during it. I haven't seen the anime so I can't compare the film to the anime but I've always wanted to watch the anime so if I ever do, I'll do a comparison for definite!

Have you seen? Have you see the anime? Which did you prefer? Do you like Sakaguchi (if that's even his real name)??
