I think my heart is finally ready to discuss My heart will never be ready, but lets remember this play that I ended up loving so much but I'm still very heartbroken that there isn't a DVD and no one'll be able to see this form of the performance ever again! ='[ but let's get into this rollecoaster ride - and I'll probably cry at parts. I'm trying to lump all three performances together so there will be the main plot and then any changes between the days I'll point out and write too... Okay let's first see how much of the play and plot I remember...


PreShow

Feb 12th:




RYUKI turned up at about 18:48! He was walking around trying to find his damn seat xD
18:51 Okubo and Taito fucking turned up too!!!
There's four of them I can't figure out who the forth one is... Clearly not a DBoys.... Maybe Tomo's personal friend or taito's friend...

Feb 18th:



There's defo an actor here wearing my blue shirt and a mask. D-Boys?? Maybe Nakao Masaki?? << turned out it was Mitsuya! ^_^

Feb 19th:



I got the dang centre again but 3 rows back xD lucky!! They made us take a number then lined us up according to the numbers he pulled out then we got tickets. I was so concerned but luckily got second place in the line.
Someone is on the next row with a mask on and there's an ikemen at the back... Both actors??
The guy at the back seriously looked like Haruto from Kamen Ride Wizard!!
18:45ish two more guys with masks came in. Ones with a guy friend to the side. Another came in an immediately greeted the Haruto looking guy who was like 'otsikaresama' so they all just be actors. << Turned out it was IkeP and possible a high school friend of Tomo's. He kept looking over at me and I'm like 'stop looking! I'm trying to see who the guy in front of you is and I can't concentrate if you keep looking!  FYI. When I came out of the theater he was there and he looked straight at me. I kinda regret leaving straight away, I should've just calmly sat down and started sorting my bag out and maybe he would've said something to me. Cos he was definitely a kankeisha but not an actor cos he wasn't in any of the twitter pics posted that day and Tomo mentioned that some friends from HS had turned up so I think that was him.
18:51 still on a row by myself!!!
One guy went past me, black tshirt and grey jeans but he got the wrong seat and had to go past me again. Our legs touched xD there's defo a bunch of kankeishas tonight!!
Too many guys are turning up a. In groups and b. With masks on.
The row behind me was all Little Green. But we don't care about them xD

First Half

So about 5 or 10 minutes before the play actually starts, the small tv turns on and Phillip comes on stage and walks around with his hood up before grabbing a book and pencils and start writing in it while watching the TV. Then as the play begins to start the TV has a shooting scene (btw the tv is small and face towards him and not the audience so we only have the audience) which gets louder. Phillip goes to the window and starts to freak out, quickly hides the pencil and books under the sofa and hides in the closet. Very soon Tomo/Treat RUNS into the house (via the door to the left) slams it shut, locks all the locks and is quiet. He goes to the window and soon calms down and turns the light on. He goes over to the table. << I really like Tomo's entrance scene.
'Phillip! Oi! Phillip! Where are you?' He goes to the stairs and to the closet where Phillip is.
Phillip: 'Is it safe?'
'Isn't that obvious.'
'You weren't followed?'
'Nah. What did you do all day?'
'I just....'
'Were you there (the closet) all day?'
'I like it there.'
'You're always there,'
Treat then goes on to ask Phillip if he saw a flashing couple from the window today and Phillip confirms and Treat is like 'well I managed to steal these (expensive jewelery and watch) from them'. And I can't quite remember why but Treat says 'Kinou ha Kinou, Kyou ha Kyou (Yesterday was yesterday and today is today)'.
Treat asks Phillip about his day and also notices the empty mayonnaise jar 'you finished it all again?' 'Tune mayo is so good! I couldn't stop.' 'Be more careful will you! But I'll buy more later', Phillip then begins to recite Shopping Channel deals he saw that day.
'You can remember all that? Without reading?' Phillip can't read.
Once he's put away the jewlery, ready to sell later, he sits on one of the chairs and asks Phillip to get the alcohol cos he hand a cut on his leg. He applies it and goes 'ouch'.
Another scene I can't remember exactly when it happens but Phillip asks:
"Do you remember mother?"
"No I don't"
"I remember her hands, they were warm."
Then Treat goes to the sofa and asks Phillip to get him the newspaper.
"Oi... why is this (word) underlined?"
Because Phillip can't read, Treat (seeing that words in the newspaper are underlined) get suspicious and angry. 'Do you know what this means?! Have you been learning to read behind my back?!' and hits Phillip with the newspaper which is then ruined by how fast Tomo thrusts the paper.
Philip: 'It wasn't me! Someone came in and did it!'
'Who?! Where is he?! Is he still here?!'
Treat tells Phillip to deal with the thief on his own and gives him a knife (on the 12th he had to let go of Philip cos he couldn't get the knife out of the cardboard box after two pulls, but the other two days the knife came out straight away so he was still ahold of him) and pushes him upstairs. Tomo starts up a cigarette (tut tut)Then there's clattering (it's off stage) and Phillip runs down stairs, falling down the last two steps (He fell twice on the 12th so one was by accident, but the other two days he only fell down the stairs this one time), and holds his arm out that's now cut. Treat slaps it 'What you whining about?!' and puts alcohol on it. Fade to black.




- Scene 2 -

*This part onwards is written like 4 months later in June. So may be shorter and buletpointy!*
Tomo/Treat brings home a very drunk Harold and tries to take Harold's suitcases. He fails the first time as Harold wakes up from his drunkard sleep and asks for it back. Harold starts to driff off again but as he does he talks about his childhood; Harold was also left fatherless and his mother died - pretty much the same situation as the boys.
While this is happening Philip is scarily close to Harold, repeating everything he says
"Mama"
"Kuso"
But eventually he passes out while singing and Treat takes the suitcase again.
I love drunk Harold although at the time we know nothing about him. Tomo learns that Harold has big connects and most likely big money so opens the suitcase trying to see what he can get out of him.
Then Treat/Tomo goes to tie Harold up- which is always scary cos he has to grab one of the chairs with his feet! And one of the days the rope already had a knot in it and so he had to undo it. Harold is tied to a chair at his feet and legs with tape over his mouth.



The scene fades to black and we come back to a single spotlight on Harold as he slowly comes around and wakes up. As expected he s delirious and confused as to where he is but luckily the entire set lights come on eventually and enter Philip who is shocked that he's awake.
First Philip talks about if he's hungry and offers him canned tuna and talks about how he used to love peanut butter sandwiches but grew up and gave up on them xD All this while Harold is muffling through his masked mouth 'let me go! / hanase' course Philip says no. Philip decides he'll make Harold some food and goes into the kitchen. At this point Harold stands up and hops over the the window and door. Philip comes back (his reaction is hilarious) and notces Harold has moved and is able to take the tape off after punching his mouth against the sofa. 'Treat will be so angry! You can't move from this spot!'
Slowly Harold talks Philip into letting him go. Saying he needs a shower and won't do anything. Philip, being naive and simple, believes him. But Harold has already untied all the ropes while he was persuading Philip. (He really does have some skills getting untied but the chair nearly went with him on that last show xD) Philip is both shocked and impressed xD Harold also talks to Philip about his mother, saying "She's blonde? Blue eye? Foreign face? I know her! Do you know someone like her?" and Philip goes "
Yea my mother but she died when I was born! But Treat said not to talk about her. He'll get angry"
Harold goes up stairs singing his song and to the bathroom. This is when Tomo gets home.

Naturally he freaks and gets violent straight away! Throwing Philip around the room and saying how stupid he is. He hears Harold singing from upstairs and grabs his knife but stops in his tracks "Why didn't he run away and call the police?" Harold strolls back downstairs happy to see Treat. He tries to tell him that they're alike and Treat yells that all the contacts he found of Harold, didn't believe he was rich etc. Harold pulls money from out of his shirt and talks about how a rich person hides their stuff so no one else can find it. Harold tries to get close to Treat but his guard is completely up with the knife.



Finally Harold places himself back on the chair, very relaxed and offers to give them money and to help them. Treat goes to attack but Harold pulls a gun on them. Tomo's performance is AMAZING in this scene; he drops the knife and his breathing speeds up and you can see even his fingers and his entire body shaking. Harold knocks him out and Philip tells him not to worry and hugs him and says he'll help them.

First Half Feb 12th Thoughts:
So far so good. I really like the writing and the script. I'm really loving Tomo's scope here. He goes from okay to really angry in seconds and when Harold pulled the gun out, Tomo's whole body was shaking which shows his amazing acting!!! The staging is really good and the story itself is captivating but I really wish people would get kicked out if they start coughing are are ill. We got some right snifflers and coughers here! If I ever own a theater I'll defo not allow I'll people, people who are prone to cough and ANYONE in heels - I can hear you moving every FUCKING time you go to move! -_- I am a little worried cos Phillip has untied converse the entire time. He already fell down the stairs once so I'm concerned that he's gunna stand one his laces and fall again - anxiety is almost at a max!!! =/ the story here is great too. Two brothers trying to get by and one either has allergies or is a hikikomori and one is stealing so they can live and they got a guy drunk and tied him up cos he looks like he's worth and full of money only to find out the contacts they found in his wallet didn't believe who he was and/or were fake contacts. And then the guy pulls a gun on Tomo, so that's why he was in no rush to leave the place and so now he's calling the joint saying he'll give them money but clearly he's most likely lying (oh how wrong was I at the time for thinking that)... A great end cos Phillip and Harold are getting along well but something is wrong with Phillip so can't really assume he's got common sense....

Feb 18th Thoughts:
Phillip fell twice today. I only remember him falling once the other day. One is definitely staged.
This time it's going by a lot faster and I'm enjoying it more
The audience are laughing more this time too.
Seriously thought something was wrong with Tomo at the end there. Proves his amazing acting!!
Did they play this rap music during the original day I went? (Yes they did)
昨日は昨日今/今日は今/今日 I love this line!!
Phillip was still sweating like fuck xD
I feel like Tomo looked straight at me in the beginning but duh lights and everything so he probably didn't.
I'd forgotten about the porn mag!! xD Great scene!!
The trip up scene this time was missed by the tiniest gap.
Also I got REAL emotional about twenty minutes into it.


Second Half

Starts off with Philip in his new, yellow attire and Harold in the kitchen whistling his favourite song!
Philip notices a present on the sofa and opens it; it's new shoes! He runs up stairs, happy.
Tomo's entrance here is great. He has a spanking new suit, opens the door with pride and even skips around the stage xD He joins Harold in his humming by whistling <3 He's so smug and proud of his new look and work.



Harold comes in and Tomo offers to make him a drink. Harold sits down and gets the newspaper and drink.
Philip soon joins them. Harold and Tomo talk about when Tomo is gunna get some proper work, but are very soon distracted by Philip constantly failing to put his new shoes on.
Harold: What ARE you doing?
Philip: I'm trying to put these on!
Harold: Well do it properly! xD
He shows him how to do it.

Tomo soon talks about how he suit nearly got ruined by some stupid man crossing the road. This sparks Harold's concern as Harold has already stated he won't give him work til he's learnt how to behavour, especially his anger.

- Scene 2 -

First we start with Harold coming out with Gashpachou soup and teaching Philip how to eat it properly (Harold's pink arpon is so cute xD). Philip is amazed that he can speak french (all he said was Gaspachou but Harold congratulates him for speaking another language).
Tomo storms home and Philip runs to sort him a bowl and cutlery. Harold finds out what's wrong and turns out Tomo was very annoyed by a guy sitting too close to him on the bus. So Harold asks him to tell him the full story;
An old man sat close to him and his legs were out wide so Tomo had no where to sit. Harold points out that he could've walked home rather than taking the bus but Tomo says he was working too far from home. Tomo explains that he tried to nudge his knees away but the amn wouldn't budge. He then ended up putting a gun to the amsn gut said that if he didn't move he'd kill him. The man got off at the next stop.
Naturally this alarms Harold and he asks him: If you'd shot him then what?
Tomo: I would jumped out the window and run
Harold: All the way from Broad street? And what about your new suit that'd be covered in blood?
Tomo: I didn't think that far

Harold makes it a point that Tomo never thinks calmly. But he asks him to reenact the scene once more. Philip pretends to be the old man and seriously slouches and has his legs out wide. Everyone pissed themselves during this scene! I think even Hirano lost it a bit on the 18th xD Harold tells Tomo that to stop himself from getting angry he should hold his private parts and keep squeezing them so to keep his cool. Naturally this is an hilarious scene, and Tomo gets to angry and goes to hit Philip so straight away reverts back to his old self and cowers a little. Harold tells him to do it again. But it all gets but too much with Harold yelling to hold himself harder and with Philip really laying on the dick role thick (no pun intended) and Tomo gets knocked out by the pressure he gave himself.



Harold holds him, tells him he's learning and he did well. As soon as Treat comes to, he flinches out of Harold's hold. Harold explains that he needs to understand what justice is in the world and that he needs to think more carefully. Harold goes back into the kitchen.

Tomo then says he has a gift for Philip which is a new jar of Helman's, but Philip says he doesn't want it and eats things like stew and soup now. You can see Tomo's heart break. Tomo storms out and leaves the house.

- Scene 3 -

It's the next day and Tomo/Treat still has not returned, but it's a nice day and Harold feels it's time that Philip goes out into the world and learns about it. Philip is worried at first but Harold pulls out a map and shows him where home is. The walk out together with Philip wearing a new hat he gets from Harold.
Tomo comes home through the window, late at night and is clearly very drunk. He hobbles over and calls for Philip but, obviously, no reply. He runs up stairs to find him but nothing. Coming back down the stairs; he slips. He sits on the sofa but is uncomfortable, he puts his hand down the sofa and pulls of three books. He realises they're Philips and is pissed. He thinks Philip's in the closet as usual, but once he opens it; nothing. Tomo really thinks Philip has gone for good and in rage throws out his mothers clothes from the closet to the ground. Here we see Treat's true vulnerability. He grabs his mothers coat, sits against the sofa and weeps.
Philip comes home and is shocked to see Tomo on the floor. He asks if he's okay and Tomo asks where he was. Philip explains he went down the street, around the corner and back.
"How did you get back?"
"With this (map). Harold gave it me"
In rage Tomo takes the map and rips it up. "You're not supposed to leave here! And look at this *picks up the books and begins to throw them at Philip* So you can read! I told you not to lie to me! Why can you read?!"
"I had to learn to read from Earl our neighbour because you didn't teach me! Why didn't you teach me! You told me it was bad for me to go outside. You never even told me what a map was! You didn't teach me! You never taught me anything!"
"I was doing it to protect you!"
Tomo throws Philip onto the sofa, gets ontop of him and starts strangling him. But thank fucking god he stops and realises what he's doing.
At this point Harold comes back home. Philip had lost Harold while walking 'Sorry, must have lost you at the corner.' Harold sees the ripped map, "Don't worry, you can get another one at the gas station. You'll show him won't you Treat?" Harold picks up his suit case, "sorry but I have to go somewhere" at this point Harold is on his way out; Philip is towards the kitchen behind Harold and Treat is at the door in front of Harold. Harold reveals to Tomo that he's been shot in the stomach, Tomo is surprised but tries to keep it together so Philip doesn't catch on.
"I'll be back soon don't worry. I know you can do it Philip." Just as Harold passes the sofa he falls onto it, revealing the gunshot to Philip, who naturally rushes to help him and to stop the bleeding. Harold holds Philip and tells him he's okay, he'll be okay cos he's got Treat. He tells Treat to sort his anger and to be there for his brother. He opens his hand out the Tomo, who still won't take it and he dies. Philip is holding onto Harold crying and Tomo slowly goes over and touches his hand, "It's strange the first time I touch him and he's dead." Tomo breaks into a mass of crying and Philip (damn I'm getting emotional writing it down right now) pulls Tomo away from Harold's dead body. And sits behind him on the floor, holding him. That damn ending when Philip grabs Tomo and slightly taps him on the shoulder in comfort while holding him. Yep here some the tears. It's amazing just how much Philip grows in this play and it's also amazing just seeing Treat face what he's been avoiding for years which is his mother's death and the struggle of bring his brother up on his own and then losing someone who wanted to help them; who practically became their father and who had the same past as them and just omg I can't *cries*

How the FUCK is this not getting a DVD?!?!?! I can still remember this all so clearly <3

I almost died when they mentioned Gaspacho soup!! If there's any Red Dwarf fans out there then you know why I almost died of laughter!

Second Half Feb 18th Thoughts:
The yellow loafers are so cute! Breaks my heart when Phillip no longer cares for Mayonnaise =(
That damn bus scene is hilarious xD love it everytime! And Tomo gets knocked out!! XD
Every time Tomo flinches when he gets touched! <\3
The crowded definitely felt off the humour more this time.
The scene was Tomo comes through the window rather than the door is rather chilling and then it just gets worse as he holds his mothers coat and and cries next to the sofa.
My heart drops every time Tomo discovers the books!!!!
Philip nearly went flying at one point though but luckily skipped over it like a pro.
Tomo's acting felt way more real and raw today if that was even fecking possible xD
Damn the ending hit me harder this time. I started crying a lot sooner and just before he tries to strangle Phillip which is totally forgotten about!!

12th After Talk




It was Tomo and Hirano's aftertalk and they were talking about their first impressions of each other and Hirano said he was intimidated at first but quickly learnt how nice Tomo is ^_^ Hirano is SO weird. Tomo tried asking him some questions and he was very direct and simple. For example "Did you enjoy today's performance?" Hirano"Enjoy? What do you mean enjoy?" Tomo "Did you do well?" Hirano "Well... yeah" to which Tomo was like ".......and?" xD

18th After Talk

Mitsuya was crying like a bitch! XD
I cried A LOT harder this time!! Mitsuya turned up and cried like a bitch and throughout the entire after talk too! xD he's so tiny in real life!!! And I've defo been spotted this time. I walked out and BAM Yamada Yuki was right in front of me, eyes met and everything! Tomo defo spotted me during the after talk too. But I was SMACK in the centre today so that wasn't difficult xD
Mitsuya: Before we confirmed this after talk I asked her (the producer/director) if I'd be okay doing it and she said yes!
Producer: We knew you'd cry, didn't we Tomo
Tomo: Yeah we knew
Poor Mitsuya being bullied xD He was like 'I wasn't prepared to cry!'
Mitsuya: I walked into Tomo's dressing room today, and he was completely in the zone so I just went 'good morning' and *quickly closes the door*' XD
Mitsuya is so cute!!
They spoke of how Mitsuya could understand the feelings of being with siblings even though the story is between a teenager and a twenties something brothers. And Tomo said he really felt he could relate to it too. Especially when the brothers play tag and someone behind me said 'yes me too' or something. And Mitsuya said that since coming to Tokyo, he's realised he needs to appreciate his family more and relised just how important they are since he came here.
They both called him MiChan as well xD
Mitsuya to Tomo: 'During the break today I daren't look at you! I just kept looking at the ground when I went past you!' XD

And there we have it! I finally freaking wrote it and it still makes me cry thinking about it now!!! I freaking loved this play and it's still the best one of the year for me. My current feels:




Overall: Oh the feel,s the emotions, the violence, the struggle, the comedy. All three of the characters are amazing and have their own journey and omg Tomo's acting is phenominal in this and that ending hits me hard every DAMN time. Omg... why no dvd *cries*
