According to some media reports, Becky has not been doing well getting leading role in dramas because:

Sports shinbun writer: “She actually doesn’t have that many fans and only really serves to fill in the roll of ‘the half girl.’ If she wants to continue working she needs an image change. She tried making it as a musician but that failed miserably…”

Industry person: “She’s at the age where she should be taking on more acting roles, but with such a foreign looking face, she can’t really get roles in NHK historical dramas nor morning dramas, and wouldn’t be a realistic role in romantic dramas. Normal (Japanese) people can’t really relate to a romance with a cute half girl…”

Well sorry but that's just excuses in my opinion!

This is shocking! So many halfs are famous and act and isn't it getting more common now-a-days that Japanese and non-Japanese are getting together?! That would be THE perfect romance Dorama for her to do! It could be a mixture of comedy and realistic issues like people finding it weird and such. It could be a 1960s Period/Historic Dorama where it wasn't as common back then for Japanese and non-Japanese to get together! A TOTALLY and COMPLETELY able Dorama it could be!

IMO, I think they're just giving these excuses and maybe they don't want to say "She's not serious enough" or "she doesn't like people would take her seriously" or "She wouldn't suit mature/serious roles" give her chance! And god forbid you give her a comedy dorama to do! She'd be perfect!

Also, I believe she rocks in Variety and I don't think she'd suit acting anyway but to attack who she is and what she is, is going too far!

And I like her singing!
